A question about alternators...

I'm going to replace my alternator today, and although the RPO code indicates it was a 105amp alternator, why do the books only call for a 100amp? I'm sure 5amps doesn't make that much difference, but one would think he could still get original specs for a replacement alternator...

Its possible the books are wrong. Have them take the number off your old alternator and cross that number, see if its a 105 amp alt.
