Nice parts list, some questions:
What bearing clearances did you measure at the mains and rods?
What crank runout did you measure?
What side clearance did you measure at the rods' big-end?
What endgap at the rings?
What piston clearance?
What head gaskets are you using?
What lifters?
What injectors?
What oil pump?

All clearances will be set upon assembly as per my machine shops specs.

I love the bottom end parts, and love the heads...
But the cam is lacking... MUCH LACKING IMO. Hey you asked for opinions. I would say go for at least the LPE 219/219 w/ that setup.
I think the LPE219 cam w/ the LTR setup and the 383 would work well together. Not what I would necessarily run, but it would be a great COMBO.
Headers will work for a while, but the added air requirements of the 383 will want more exhaust flow...
I would start looking for 1 3/4" headers...
my $.02

I think it was chevy high performance that did a recent article on headers for a 383. It showed shortys making waaaaaay more torque up to 4000, and only giving up 10-15hp up top. I think the choice of cam is ok depending on where you want to make power.
I think revving to the moon is cool
but making buckets of torque without having to rev is nicer for the street.
Anyhoo thats my $0.02

Ya that cam is too light. That motor is BEGGING for spray, so I would go with a Comp Cams NX288HR.
As for headers, for spray bigger is better. Heres what I just bought for my race motor

Otherwise, you will be ok with 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 SLP shorties into a mufflex style exhaust. This was my former setup and I still have it laying around.

Opinions valued
I may jump to the LPE219 that I have read so much about here.
REAL, do you have the 1-3/4" headers and do you wanna sell them?
