Waterpump coolant bypass blockoff question
In a number of publications that I've read over the years I've noticed that it's recommended to block off the lower hole in the block where the waterpump mounts on the pass side.
And it seems like that mod is supposed to be accompanied by drilling some bypass holes in the thermostat, IIRC.
But I've never seen an explanation for why it's done or what the benefits / disadvantages are.
Anyone care to comment on this?
Thanks
