How to remove pin from distributor

I'm replacing the magnetic pickup coil in my distributor. In order to do this I must remove the pin at the base of the distributor below the gear. I've attempted to remove it, but it won't budge. What is the best way to remove this pin?

Get a punch, or some object the right diameter. (slightly small than the hole......) and drive it out. I use a 3lb. hammer, don't have to hit it hard, or very often.

I'm going to buy a set of punches tomorrow because my selection is limited. Is there a particular size punch or nail set that works best?

You'll want a pin punch, they're not tapered.

I went to Sears today and found the tool I needed. It's a Craftsman 6 pc. Roll Pin Punch Set (Model #43167). I only needed the 5/32" Roll Pin Punch, but they sell them in a set of 6. They're like normal punches except for the tip. The tip is designed specifically for roll pins. Here's a picture:

I hope this information is helpful to others.
