Depressurizing Fuel System
I have to re visit my intake gasket instalation because of a bad seal at the back of the motor. Last time I forgot to relieve the pressure in the fuel injection system. It got MESSY! SO the haynes manual says to pull the fuel pump fuse in the Fuse box. I can't find any fuse that is related to the fuel pump or fuel system (90 Iroc).So how do I disable the fuel pump without gettin underneath the car. Where might the fuel pump relay be on my 90 Iroc (LB9)?

There's a fuse in the fusebox labeled FP/INJ or a fuse by the battery in a little black box that's supposed to be bolted to the side of you car. (Mine broke off.)
Actually, I had both, so I unhooked both of them. I unhooked them, took off the gascap to depressurize it, and then ran the car to get the fuel out of the lines.

Your car shouldn't run at all if you unplug that F fuse in the engine compartment. That fuse is also the main power to the ECM, at least it is on TPI cars.
To disable the FP you want to get to the FP/guage connector which is back by the tank, in front of it, all the way up under there. If you are under the DS in front of thw wheel by the FF you can see/get to it w/o too much trouble.

guys, why are you doing things the hard way? no fuses need to be pulled, pumps disabled.. all you need to do is take the gas cap off and wait a few hours/over nite and the fuel pressure will be 0. if you dont want to wait over nite, go to the schraeder valve with a rag and let the pressure out.. this is the easiest way to do it, in my opinion.

Yeah, do that... Unless you for some reason need to turn on the ignition switch. Then you'll power up that fuel pump :-)

Axle/Gears: 9-bolt, 3.27
Not that I ever do it myself, but the safest and cleanest way to do it is by pulling the F/P-INJ fuse and running the engine. You can diconnect the plug to the tank, but it's a PITA to get to compared to the fuse unless you already have the car in the air.
I usually use the "let it run all over the place" method, and end up smelling like a gas pump for a few hours!
