Original LT-1 Heads

Can original LT-1 heads that were used on 71 Camaros, with the 370HP 350 for example, be used on a TPI setup? I have found a set that are fully race ported and polished with double valve springs and erson roller rockers for about 400 bucks. And I'm pretty sure theyd be able to make some good power. Moreso, would these be compatible with a Stealthram Intake? If so, I could be lookin at gettin' one helluva good setup here.

Thanks for the help.

You may have to drill out the middle holes on the intake to make it fit but other than that they should bolt right up. But depending on the casting they may or may not have acccessory bolt holes, so find out the last three digits of the casting number and let us know.

CHECK THE CASTING NUMBER! Sorry, I didnt mean to yell, but you need to make sure to do this. A lot of times, heads are from "400hp motors" or the like, and they are junk. Kind of the same way every 305 becomes a 350 at time of car sale, and every 350 is from a 'vette. Get the casting numbers, do yourself a favor.

Yes they can be used. The only issue might be the bolt hole angle for the intake manifold. Thats not a big deal though, a search will tell you how to fix that.

If they are real '70 LT-1 heads (only year for 370hp) they might not have hardened valve seats though, because they were designed for leaded fuel. TPI can't use leaded fuel. Hardened valve seats can be installed though.
