Noisy injectors what to do

We just bought a 94 Regal w/ the 3.8 TPI. There is an RPM dependant ticking that occurs while accelerating.

I know this is definitely not 3rd gen, but since there is no Regal board handy, I figured Id see if you guys will help a chap out.

I think that its my injectors. It is a ticking that increases w/ RPM and is only heard while accelerating, at cruise, normally it is quiet. And it is in almost ALL accelerating, not just WOT.

My questions:
1) How would I test the theory out? In neutral there is no noise, in D w/ parking brake on, there is no noise either.
2) If it is my injectors, what does it mean? Am I on my way to replacing them, are they on their way out, etc?
3) What can I do about it?

Thanks guys
Clayton

Mine tick like heck at idle sometimes. I think it's normal. I gotta open element setup, so all I hear under throttle is sucking noise. I checked the ohm level on mine about 2 wks ago and they're fine.

I also got a 95 Monte w/ the 3100 sequential fire intake. They tick too.

El Guapo,

If you are certain it's the injectors clicking, go to sleep without a worry - that's O.K. I have had some injectors that can be heard with the hood closed at a low idle and have driven them for 170,000 miles without a problem. I swear I can still hear the LT1 injectors at a low hot idle, and Rich tells me they are like new for flow, spray, and leakage. They only have 110,000 miles on them so the jury's still out.

Guess I just got spoiled when I had the 2.8 Firebird. Never heard an injector. Oh well. Thanks for the reassurance.
