Testing fuel pump

I have a GSS340 here that I bought used and I'd just like to see it run before I put it in..how much power do these draw? Can I just hook it up to 12V source and run water through it to check it out?

It would probably be better if you ran some fuel from a bucket through it instead of water.

Yeah actually I had thought about that after I posted. Any idea what kind of current the Walbro 255lph high-pressure GSS340 will draw? I'm assuming I can just hook 12V straight up to the leads as marked +/-

You are correct in that assumption and I would suggest just running it long enough to insure that you have a good flow from it.
