UK Newbie Needs Advice On First Camaro
UK Newbie Needs Advice On First Camaro
I'm in the UK and looking to buy a 3rd Gen Camaro. I know this might cause some arguements but what would be the best year and model to buy? I'd like a '92 Z-28 V8 5.7 as it's a later model and the most powerful, but open to suggestions.
Which model is most easily tuneable?

If you get the '92 350 then it will have TPI (fuel injection), I dont think it came with a carb in 350's in 92.
It will also be an automatic. They didnt have sticks for 350s in the 3rd gen era.
I'm glad to see the over-sea'ers getting into the 3rd gen revolution

Oh man... 3rd Gen Owners in the EU are cool! They also need a ton of cash for petrol!

Hell... so do we in California. :P
Unless I recall incorrectly, there was a bloke in England somewhere who had to sell his precious bird due to hardship. Maybe that one is still around.
It amazes me how many folks outside the US are interested in the 3rd Gen "F".:

I'd say a '91-'92 Z28 would be nice to have, but so would an '89 IROC... The Trans Ams are cool too (I have one!) but I don't like the 91-92 styling..
If you're going to buy an automatic, buy a 1987 or newer. Actually, I think it might be 1988 or newer.... they received slightly stronger/more reliable transmissions.

Perhaps one of the Tech / General Engine section moderators could move this over to the more appropriate board?

The chap you refer to is actually one of our moderators, ZZ42Fast, who had to sell his IROC that had a ZZ4 engine, Probuilt TH700R4 and various other modifications. The car is sadly sold now though.
