A/C belt problem?
Today i went outside to fire up the iroc and all of a sudden when I fire it up the belt started making a squealing noise and the a/c pulley sounded like it was grinding. So i took the belt off and tried to turn the a/c pulley with my hand and it is stuck it won't turn at all it is so bad to the point now that when i start my car the belt will start to smoke on the a/c because of all of the friction there i was thinking about taking out the a/c and put the a/c delete pully on but I want to keep my a/c has this happened to anyone other than me because i have never heard of a problem like this????
There's a good chance that the clutch bearings are locked/toast. If the damage is severe, the bearing failure may have also damaged the hub shaft and is preventing the compressor shaft itself from turning. That's why you cannot turn it by hand, even slowly.
