How do you adjust the emergency brake? the one in my camaro does just short of nothing, i have to pull it all they way back just to hold the car.
I know its just a parking break, but is there any way i can make it the emergency break i know it can be, so when im doin 65 and i pull it, my rear wheels lock?

Mine sucks too! I attribute it to the fact that I have a disc rear end in a car that was drum. Am I blaming it on the wrong thing???

My money is on a failure of the helical actuator/screw that enters the rear of the caliper and piston bore. Usually, they are corroded and will not return fully. When that happens, the cable adjustment is useless. The lever arms on these older calipers must return fully to the stop tabs when the brake is released. The installed spring should be adequate to return the cable to the "released" position if the helical actuator is clean, properly lubricated, and freely moves. According to the factory manual, the proper lubricant is clean brake fluid.
