Quick electrical system question
I noticed this morning that my car is charging higher than normal....like 15.5 volts. It started right up, not like the battery was weak at all, however the weather hit freezing for the first time last night.
The thing that concerns me is this. I gave someone at work a jump the other night, but the idiot crossed the cables and put the pos on his neg and the neg on his positive and didn't tell me. So I got the nice little spark show when I went to connect my side. My car wasn't running at the time though. Could this have in some way caused my high charging situation now? Like maybe fried the battery? Although I don't think it would have turned right over this morning then?

Sounds like the regulator in your alternator is going bad now.
Get it checked before you damage your battery.

Yeah I'll have to find a parts store local that tests them and pull it out tonight or tomorrow.
I forget....do they sell just the regulator for our alternators since they are internal?
