Did you fry the fuel pump, if it is good you should hear it prime when you turn the ignition key on..

Check for the pump to come on by applying 12 v to the G terminal of your aldl.

Let us know if your pump is working or not.. What happens is that when you run out of gas the little motor inside the pump overheats and stops working as there is no more fuel to keep it cool. It happend to me so i learned from my mistake..

If it is the pump there is lots of info here on how to replce it..

Good luck.

Hey guys, I recently got my 86 z back from my brother so I haven't been on for about a year. It would seem I'm having the same prob. I too, do not hear my pump priming and have checked everything but the filter and the juice goimg to the pump. so just to be sure how do i test the pump? I'm trying to check every possibility before i rip the tank out.

Thanks,

O. Rod
