Wrong Spark plugs????
Wrong Spark plugs????
I recently installed AC Delco Rapid Fire Spark Plugs on my 92 Camaro. The spark plugs were factory gapped at 045. Ever since I replaced the spark plugs, the car runs sluggish. Should I advance the timing since the gap is alot wider, or should I replace the plugs or regap them.

Do you still have the tune-up sticker on the hood? If I remember factory calls for .035 or .037 so .045 is a little wide, especially if your ignition system is getting weak. I'd go with straight AC Delco's gapped at factory specs. I have an MSD 6AL and am running my AC Delco's at .050.

After all the plugs I have tried, U-Groove, Split Fire, platiunum, Rapid Fire I am back and staying with STOCK Plugs.. My ignition is built up now witha MSD Coil, Crane 8.5MM Fire Wires, and an Accel ignition box and it runs it's best... Index the plugs if you want more out of them.
