it'd help to know your induction system and the application. basically i'd look at a .575 or so roller from lunati if it were me.

350s in the 500 hp range are pretty tough to live with. You need more gear than a 373. Try 4.56. I would have the weight about 3000 also. The torque curve of a motor like that is pretty bad below 4000. TFS heads will not do it without major work. Their new R head might, but not the street head. Your also talking a pretty stout roller. A 1.46 spring will take a beating.

I would shoot for 450-460 and spray it if you have your heart set on a 350.

look at the 350 combinations from american speed http://www.amerspeed.com/ they don't even list a 350 with more than 475hp.

you would definatly need a single plain manifold to get those RPMs up.

A better approach is shoot for a specific mph. Depending on suspension, low 12s can be anything from 110mph to 120.

Figure your going to need between, 8.5 and 9 lbs per hp to have something that can run 12s at 116+(formulas below)

http://www.dsm.org/tools/calchp.htm
hp = weight * (speed / 234)3

hp = ((speed * .00426)3)* weight

This method uses the weight of the car and the time it took that
car to travel 1320 feet (¼ mile).

The formula is: hp = weight / (ET / 5.825)3
10-1 lbs per hp
12.55 sec @ 108.5 mph using both formulas above
(11.95 @ 109 w/moroso power speed calc)

9-1 lbs per hp
12.1 sec @ 112.5 mph using both formulas above
(11.6 @ 113 w/moroso power speed calc)

8-1 lbs per hp
11.64 sec @ 117.1 mph using both formulas above
(11.2 @ 117.5 w/moroso power speed calc)

so, anything between 400 and 450hp in a 3500lb would work. Most of the system packages (holley, edelbrock) can pull off 425 hp (it's just a point of reference, don't get one of those, the cams suck and the heads arnt anything to rave about. The TFS23 heads are better than both of those)

If you combine something like that with a new design hydroller, your in the 450 range. It should last a while bc you wont have to twist the whee out of it. Do a little suspension work and work on weight transfer and you should be able to pull off a high 11.
If your going to spend big bucks on anything make it the heads and cam.

One other thing, the 6speeds dont have much 1st gear. When you combine that with the 373 your going to need something that twists up pretty quick. Keep the drivetrain light. Get the lightest flywheel you can (20 lbs if you can afford it), aluminum drive shaft, light wheels. Keep the tires small in back or the 373 will be even higher. I would not run a more radical hydroller than the XR288HR (236-242 duration).

The only thing about the hydrollers is you can't buzz them much more than 6500. (your not really going to need more than that with 373s) But, with the afr hydra-rev (its a rev kit for hydrollers), most will pull 7000+

another thing you can do is get the cam ground on a 107 or 108 lsa. It will really pickup midrange hp. Just what the 373s would like.

I am spent..thats more work than i did all week. Time to go drink.
