Transmission: They always break!

Totaled car, NEED ADVICE PLEAASEEEEE

Hey guys my girlfriend got into an accident and the car was totaled. It is a 95 Mustant GT (I KNOW). I wanted to know if they total the car, how far can i strip the car before they take it and give it to the wrecking yard. Would it be ok to take the engine and transmission, seats, and radio system and then let them take it! I dont want the car but I do want whats inside of it. How much could i get away with. I dont want to buy it back from salvage! Just want these things.

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS.
