how detonation sounds like?

hi i had a problem with my pick up coil so i change my distributor /module/and pick up coil at the same time. i think i put it back the right way. i time it back to 11degree and it seems to be pinking so i tried it to 6 degree and still does a misellanous wird sound when engine is especially open full throttle. the higher the speed im into 1,2,3,4 then 5. that sounds increase.
dos'ent do that sound anymore if in neutral or if wheels are lifted to the ground.

question 2 how to lacate a vibration i can feel it in my t-5 manual shifter??the higher the engine rev the more it vibrate?

Your problems may be related. 1st thing to do is make sure you have the spark plug wires going to the proper cylinders.

since it gets worse as you go up in speed, not RPM, that it is probably something tranny-back related.

wirering....

i own a haynes book with this diagram and im sure at 100% that my wirering is find alreaddy. How my car would sound like if the distributor is one tooth off?

and about the vibration i know its a rear end problem but what are the possibility of that vibration because it started out of nowerer?no reasons?why?

If you set the timing with a timing light, being one tooth off just means that the distributor housing will be rotated from where it was before.

If you just set the new distributor back in to the same position as the old one without using a timing light to set the timing, shame on you.

Vehicle speed related vibrations can be from u-joints, transmission mount, loose pinion yoke, worn gears. #1 culprit in my experience is tires.
