Iron or Aluminum?

I pla togoto a junk yard and pick up a pair of GM iron heads and do some home porting and cleaning. Putting roller rockers and studs into the head. Would this be worth it over stock or should I save 1K to buy some nice complete aluminum heads. I have a very limited budget and am about to go off to college next fall. Thanx.

get a set of vortecs and a performer rpm intake. Cost way less than 1K. You can get the heads for about 450 complete.

might have enough left for a comp XE cam. XE268 would probably work good 4 u.

vortecs are good heads for cheap. L98 heads are good too. going fast cost money a nd it all comes down to how fast you can afford to go.
