305 LG4 Engine Buildup

I have a completely stock 305 LG4 in my 87 Camaro and I want to get more power out of it. What I really need to know is what I can do to get the most power out of it. I don't want to replace the heads, pistons, or the engine itself. What I do want is suggestions on what could improve performance and info on what would be the best cam, the carb and intake combo, the best gears, and stuff like that. Any ideas??

I've managed to get some pretty good power out of my LG4 sticking with the stock bottom end of the motor. See my signature or website for my mods. You can make a lot of power if you choose the right cam along with upgrading the exhaust and getting a lot of head work done. Also changing to a 3.73 or 4.10 gear will help a lot too but just be sure to match the gear with the cam and rest of the combination. I recommend going with a Performer RPM manifold and a 600cfm Holley carb.
