Starter relay or VATS
The other day when I went to leave work, my car wouldn't crank or anything. Fortunately it's a 6 speed so one of my co workers and I push started it and I got it home. Now I've done searches and as far as VATS goes, my factory ECU is on the other side of the country right now where the guy is that I sold it to. In other words I'm running a Holley stand alone ECU so I'm not exactly sure how VATS would work without the ECU. Keep in mind that this is not a problem that I've got just trying to get the setup working. I've been running this aftermarket ECU without any starting problems for about a year and a half. I've done some searches and decided to bypass my starter relay and it started to crank, but my battery died right away, I'm assuming from having the door open for so long while checking stuff out. It's on a trickle charge right now but if it wanted to crank when I bypassed the starter relay, would that be a VATS problem or just a bad starter relay? Also, I'm not exactly sure how my security light is supposed to ask when the VATS is working properly. Anyone know what I should look for what it comes to the light?

My guess is it's not VATs related, most likely the aftermarket ECU does not have VATs, but regardless, even if it did, push starting it would not have bypassed it since VAT's not only diables the starter relay, but the injectors too, IIRC.
Seems more like a weak battery than anything else.

Well I know that it's not a weak battery cause I trickle charged it for awhile, and it started right up with the jumper wire bypassing the starter relay, then shut it back off, and plugged the starter relay back in and then nothing. Went back and jumped the starter relay again and bam, started right back up again.

Does it "click" when you turn the key? If so, then you're getting voltage to the relay, but not through it, may not have it at the relay either.
Do you have a pinout of the relay circuit?
