307? worth time?
My friend has a 307 in his demo car that is supposedly rated at like 148 hp and 350 tq, the torque number seems off alittle, its a '87 Caddy
I can get the motor for pretty much nothing, and the 307 has a better bore/stroke combo for my TA (light car), I'm thinking of just swapping to 416 heads, and a high lift cam, what do you guys think?

Is this a sbc 307 or oldsmobile 307? I have a sbc 307 in my camaro.. it needs some good tuning but it has a decent set of heads on it, 2.5" exhaust, 600 holley vs, hooker shorty headers, flowmaster 80. like I said just a good tuning I think would help a lot. my fastest time was 9.8 @ 74MPH 1/8th with a
.938 reaction. and 2.347 60 foot. with these few bolt ons and not running right its faster than stock 305s, so it depends on what you want from it. you will also note that this was my first run on the strip and I suck.. lol.

You HO is way better, there is no more potential in a 307 then there is in a 305. Not worth IMHO.

Its not a 283 block or 327 crank. It is a 283 bore and 327 stroke crank that makes a 307. Just getting technical on you.
