AC compressor question

I just installed a new compressor/accumulator and put R134A and oil into the system onto my dads 85 cadillac. Usually when I start it the belt or the compressor squeeks a little. Is this a sign that I do not have enough oil in the compressor or a sign of a faulty unit? The thing runs fine once the squeeking stops after 5 seconds usaully.

If the belt is tight enough (they have to be real tight) then its usually a sign of a bad compressor.

Was it a new comp or rebuilt??

The rebuilt ones suck. I will never use one again. (after having to warrantee 6 of them on customers cars....)
