Just My Luck...

As you can see, I am new to the board. I just thought I would grace you with a story you may find amusing...I know I do.

Yesterday, I decided to replace my stock intake with a Weiand Stealth that I have had since February, but never had the time to put on. The installation went smoothly and it looked sharp. I was putting my carburetor studs and bolts on, and a bolt slips out my fingers and falls into my driver side head.

I couldn't belive it. It absolutly sucked. I was too hungry to take it all apart and get the bolt out (working from 8AM-3PM) so I guess im going to have to do that today.

HAHA, that sucks bigtime. I remember when I decided to change my water pump over a water drain. Of course I dropped a bolt right into the drain. Luckily I was right in front oh autozone and they happeend to have the exact same one, but my initial reaction was very angered.

Midnight,

Welcome Aboard!

The "dropped bolt syndrome" has haunted all of us at one time or another. I dropped an exhaust stud into a pipe and it decided to lodge in the cat converter. I had plenty of "fun" getting that one out without damaging the converter.

If the retrieval magnet idea doesn't work, you could also try a spring-type set of retrieval fingers. The pick-up tools can be found at many hardware and auto stores for only a few bucks. You'll probably find all sorts of uses for it eventually.

Been there, done that. Droped a bolt straight into distributor hole on the intake which after tearing the intake off I realized it went through the lifter valley into the oil pan. Needless to say I was very very very very pissed.
