lost a retainer now what??

ok i lost one of my keepers when i was putting my heads together. i only have 31. my keepers were a comp cam double or triple lock style i forgot. what i was wondering is if i can run a different type of keepers on 1 valve?? i would rather not have to buy a whole new set just because i lost one but i dont want to compromise my engine while trying to replace it with a different one. Also if any one might have a comp one or a set i would be willing to work something out.

thanks

Where did you loose it? Are you positive it isn't inside the engine somewhere?

You should be able to purchase a single keeper of the same type. If not then a good keeper made for your spring diameter should suffice.

Might be alot easier/faster to take an existing keeper to the machine shop and see what they have laying around. Most likely you'll get the proper keeper, and they'll probably just give it to you.
