line lock, trans brake, 2 step
I'm wiring up a car for someone, it has a line lock, trans brake and a 2 step. How's everyone hooking this stuff up? I'm thinking about connecting the trans brake and 2 step to the button on the shift and the line lock will have a seperate button. Is this a common way to hook this stuff up?

Everybody has their own way of doing it and gets used to how they set it up. I have 1 toggle switch that arms everything in the center console. I push the button on my shifter know that engages the front line lock for my burnout, then when I bump upto stage and hit the brake, I then push the button on my steering wheel for the transbrake that is also tied into the front line lock to prevent the car from settling into/out of the beams since CONSISTENT staging is one of THE most critical areas in bracker racing.
Cant remember how we wired everything up exactly, but I do remember we installed a diode inline so it would'nt back feed power to the transbrake solenoid when I was doing my burnout.
You can see how I've got mine laid out and it's a fairly common arrangement to what others use. (the other toggle switch behind the shifter is now just a dumbie until I install the nitrious) Some guy have multiple transbrake buttons mounted in different locations in case they're fast or slow that day, but if you know your car and how to speed it up and slow it down on the lights, it's ALOT easier to have things 1 way-this way your routine will always be the same and become second nature.

Thanks. The interior looks good! I'm working on a 2002 TA. The original ECU was replaced by an Accel Gen VII. Everyone who worked on it added wires, it was a mess. I pulled all the harnesses out of the car and about 80% of the wires were no longer used. The antilock brakes, the A/C, airbags, sound system were all removed but the wiring was still there. I'll post some pictures when it's done.
