Vortec 305 buildup--> what pistons to keep 9.5 CR w/64cc heads?????

Okay heres the deal... my old 86' LG4 block is going to be rebuilt with the cheapest and fastest parts that can be had. Its going into an earlier TA so emissions isn't a concern. Its going to be bored .030 over and have th 64cc vortec heads. Since its jumping from 58 to 64cc what type of pistons should I use to maintain something near 9.5 compression? Will flat topped pistons be enough? I'm having trouble finding any that are relavtivly cheap..wanted to use hypereutectic instead of forged. Any info is very much appreciated!

Also what type of cam would be good for this setup? We were thinking comp extreme engergy..but since this will have an RPM intake should should it have an RPM cam?

Bore (inches) 3.765
Stroke (inches) 3.48
Comb Chmb Vol (cc's) 64
Head Gskt Thickness (inches) 0.015
Head Gskt Diameter (inches) 4.1
Piston ValveRelief Vol (cc's) 5
Deck height (inches) 0.025

These specs will give you a approx 9.25CR. Remove 2ccs from the heads or pistons and you have 9.49CR.

The head gasket at .015 is about the thinnest you will find. Flattop pistons with a 5cc relief may be tough to find.

You may have to mill the heads depending on the pistons availible. The gasket is in Jegs.

Why spend the money on a 305 when you can do a 350 cheaper? Plus, i don't think the 350cid Vortec heads will work on the 305. You might have to find 305 Vortec heads, if they even make them. I would go with the 350.
You could buy a new GM 350 shortblock cheaper than a 305 rebuild.

PAW has a Federal-Mogul piston kit(hyper) for about $127(pistons and pins), or $193(pistons, pins, rings, and bearings).
Piston # 534P @ .030
stock head gasket approx .040" @ 9.0cc
64cc head = 8.6:1
60.5cc head = 9.0:1
valve relief = 7-8cc ??(not sure about this. double check before commiting to anything)

To get the 9.5:1 you are looking for, you might need to mill the heads down to 62cc and the head gasket that Brent is talking about. Fel-Pro #1094
