aftermarket shift ****
I want to replace my stock shift *** on my auto tranny with a nice aftermarket one to compliment my steering wheel. I see some at work that are marked for a camaro of my year but I don't understand that none of them have any sort of button feature Your supposed to have to push in to shift down or into R or whatever.. how do i go about doing that with a aftermarket shift ***.. or do I have to disable that somehow.

Think you need that there button, I've got the same thing. Have seen aftermarket handles with a button on top, don't know where you get 'em though.

Wheel and gauges look good, 87TPI. I've got a Grant GT I'm thinking of putting on my Bird.
I've got the T-handle already--the aftermarket ***** I've seen look like a "stick," with a button on top. There are also some really cool shift kits, from B&M, etc.
The button is important, so you don't accidentally shift by bumping the handle. Another advantage to shift kits, is reverse lockout. Pretty easy to slide into R in the heat of racing.
P.S. If you haven't changed your fuel filter lately, OMG there's some lost horsepower. Plug wires etc. too. Nothing like a good tune up to make these cars run like they are supposed to.
