Keep timing at 0* on stock L03 or bump it up?

Bump it to like 4, 6 or 8 if you aren't worried about knock. If it's BONE stock then run 6-8 shouldn't be a problem unless the EGR isn't working. Then you will have knock for sure (ecm advance timing thinking it has EGR on). If you go anything more than 6 I would run higher octane gas just because you're already running with 9.5:1 and it's better to be safe than sorry.

i'm running a relatively stock L03 w/ 6* advanced base timing.. it's got a K&N and an "exhaust shop special" Flowmaster exhaust(i didn't put it on, but she's staying stock till then end of college.), and I run 87 octane. It gets slightly better mileage and seems to run a little better with 89, so I may start putting in 89.. or not.

higher octane gas shouldn't affect gas mileage, it burns the same as regular fuel..
only benefit you might get is that your computer sees it can advance timing a bit more and lean off the mixture..
check your fuel mileage by the amount of gas in your tank, don't go by your gauge..
i would runa tank of 87, run a tank of 89, and then decide if the mpg gain is worth the difference in price oyu paid to fill up..

If you are getting better gas mileage w/ higher octane fuel, that means one thing...you are running too much timing and the computer is retarding it to compensate on the low octane fuel.

well gas here is around 1.60 for 93 1.50 for 89 and 1.40 for 87. so for 10 cents more a gallon that 89 (87 not an option) it cost about 1.60 more for 40-45 extra miles a tank. its worth it to me.btw my timing is advanced 4*.
