Serpentine swap alt wiring q

OK, I'm doing a vbelt to serpentine swap off a 91 camaro. My '86 alternator is a two wire plug and the new one has 3 wires. The extra one is the tan/white one in the pic. What is it for and what do I do with it? First pic is the 1986 Iroc alternator.
