power steering went on 350tpi

power steering went on 350tpi
well its not my car but my body shop guys car
the power steering isnt working and the belt is still on. is there anything he can do to try and get it working again? or is it always you have to replace the pump. and what is the process. i did a search and i know you need a ps pulley puller but there wasnt really a process. he was all bummed thinking you gotta take off alot of things
he slipped discs in his back and cant really work on it himself so im trying to save hims some grief as he is more of a carbed dodge guy and doesnt like the way gms are put together.
