Aluminum Intake

I am just about to start ordering parts for my LG4 to L69 rebuild. The only thing I have left to decide on is an intake. It currently has the cast iron LG4 intake.

The cam will be stock L69, as will the pistons (.030 over), with an edelbrock performer 600cfm carb (woot, got it for free), and i will be midly porting the heads (416's - mostly just cleaning the slag, possibly port matching). I had thought about an Edelbrock performer, an RPM, and a Weiand X-CELerator. Any ideas on which one would be best suited?

Car is mostly just a week-end cruiser, with the occasional high speed romp outta town. No drag racing.

Performer or Action+ would be fine. Port match to your heart's content.

Won't make a difference on the port matching?

Never really does, its way overrated. Why are you going with a stock cam, they have much improved upon cam nowadays.

It's most important to have the head ports as big as or bigger than the intake ports. You don't want the air to hit a step-down as it's heading to the cylinder.

I was thinking about a larger cam, a crane energizer 266H10 to be exact, but I might be doing a 350 later in the fall, as well. You'de be surprised just how much local retailers like to jack up the prices here. Besides the fact that I don't want to get into beefing up the heads.
