I saw this additive for R134 that claims to give it a 10 percent increase in cooling performance. My A/C came with the car "a la carte" sitting in the rear, so i'm putting it back in as an R134 system. Should I bother with the additive?

I wouldn't. My father did a 134a retrofit on a Nissan the other day and it blew 34* from the vents. My 86 Firebird blew about 40* out of the vents when we did the retrofit. Can't really ask for much more than that.
My father does air conditioning service and the only thing he's ever added to the 134a refrigerant is the proper amount of lubricating oil.
