electrical FP to mechanical swap
If I already got the stock electrical fuel pump in my gas tank, and I swap in my motor with a mechanical fuel pump, will the in tank pump have too much resistence for the mech. pump to pull out? Or is there some kind of pink-up I can put in the tank to replace the elec pump?

The TBI pump puts out about 12-15psi, something like that...you could eliminate the mechanocal pump altogether and run a 3 port regulator for your carb.
As to your question, many have left the pump in the tank...most have had good results, others claim problems.

ya, I wanted to run a mech. pump, but an AFPR is still in the air.
Another question, whats the difference/use for 3/4 ports FPR? I figured 3 port being inlet/outlet/return to tank lines. what wud the 4 port one be?
but ya, if anyone on here has left the elec pump and ran a mech pump, id like to know how that worked out for you, and some do's and don'ts wud be nice as well

If you have a TBI motor the pump only puts out around 15 psi. You can use the in tank pump and an external regulator with a return and not even worry about the mechanical pump. I had one on my car and copied the GM ZZ3 camaro swap. It used a holley regulator and a brass fitting with a small hole in it as a return to the tank. Just regulate it down to 5 or 6 psi for a carb.

Ive always been a bit of a fan of mechanical components as oposed to electrical, thats pretty much the only reason why I want(ed) to swap to a mech. pump. But w/e, I guess just leavin the pump alone wud be good enuf for me. I just need to find a wiring diagram for the pump itself. Im getting rid of all the useless wiring in the car, it wud be a shame to cut a power lead to the pump
