ecm trouble? fp trouble?
I was having trouble before with no fuel pump, but I was too busy to fix it. Now that I have time to work on my car I need some help.
Connecting terminals A and B on the ALDL does nothing, a week ago I could check for codes that way. The fuel pump does not turn on. The engine will crank, but it gets no fuel. Reading through my manual, I see that the ECM triggers the fuel pump switch, which tells the fuel pump relay to turn on the pump, with the fuse under the steering column in between. I am getting power to the fuse, but I cannot get power at the relay. This doesn't seem to make sense, since power should be at the relay if it is at the fuse.
Where is the fuel pump switch?
Is this sequence correct? How can I test to see if my ECM is dead, or just if I have a bad connection/ground somewhere? All help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know if this will help you at all but a while ago I was having problems with the fuel pump not being energized when the key was turned "on". It would throw a code 54.
I replaced the ecm and the problem went away.
