question about internal/external balancing

Im lookin into just buyin all the seperate parts for my 383 buildup as opposed to buying a kit. Im lookin into the eagle cast steel crank on jegs, part# 356-103523750. It says externaly balanced, but does that mean that I CANNOT at all balance it internally? The crank is only like 200 bux, which sounds like a damn good deal to me seeing how its an eagle, and its steel and not iron. But, Ive never had a bottom end balanced, so I didnt know if the crank must be able to "accept" internal balancing, or you have to balance however it says to.

I wouldn't bother with it if I were you honestly. I suppose you could keep it externally balanced, and run a 400 balancer and a counterweight on the flywheel, but if you're talking about a machine shop "balancing" an unbalanced crank then I think for not much more after that and coulda got a balanced assembly and drop the engine in anything...

not reason it couldn't be balanced anyway you like, but it would require a lot of mallory metal and wouldn't be very cose effective. buy a crank made for internal balance and go from there.
