Air Intake question
OK, I've been told the CAI's don't do squat, be some people here. Is this true? If so would going with the ram air box from hawks be better(I have the RA2 hood) or would the K&N that goes directly on to the throttle body be better?
I plan on changing to a new filter setup when i do the LT-1 intake swap here in a month or so.
Also would removing the metal canister that the air filter sits in stock and just bolting it down to the space where the can sits improve flow or would it hurt by pulling in engine temp air?

Some people don't know squat. Look at all the new cars and they get their air from outside the engine compartment. Heck even my 1991 Chevrolet pickup with a 305 and TBI has a cold air intake from the factory.
On my GTA I boxed off the area where the filter sits so that it can only get air from the fender well area and the front of the car.
Now some are indeed removing the air filter can and drilling a 3 1/2' hole in the bottom where the filter was. Then extend the air line down below the sheetmetal and install a filter. I chose to do mine a little differently as I stated above. I also relocated the charcoal cannister to make more room. Allen
