I am putting a 383 together for my 89 convertable. I was wondering if an aftermarket tpi intake or a stock Lt1 intake would be best suited for the fuel delivery job.TGO Supporter
LT1 would be my choice.

For the money, I don't think you can beat the LT1 intake. I'm very happy with mine.
LT1. It is really hard to max this thing out. It has so many benifits and an almost unlimited potential right out of the box.

What do you plan to do with the car?
Not sure what either has to do with fuel delivery...maybe air delivery. How much air does your engine require?

I really do not have any specific plans for the car besides driving the hell out of it on the street.
Removing a few mustang and ***** doors along the way would be a nice bonus!!
A bunch of senior members on this site say you must get bigger injectors when putting in a bigger cubic inch motor. I was just weighing out my options on replacing the old 305 tpi and intake or working with it.
Seems like the consensus is just to go with an LT1. How much is a new one??

If you can make it work, go for it, but it ain't no bolt-on.
Upon further review i have decided to just work with the old tpi intake. I know i need to replace the injectors with bigger ones.
Anyone know what brand and size injectors i should be looking for??
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Get a holley stealth ram intake. http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...MSM/7540P.html
Great aftermarket mod, if you dont care about emissions. 30-40 hp gain. It is a higher rise intake so you need some good hood clearence so now wouldnt be a bad time to use this as an excuse to pick up a nice cowl. Also note that the stock TPI plenum has 2 thick metal pieces inside it aburting the air flow, for some reason gm put these inside. Unless you want to port the plenum yourself your flow wont be as good. Stealth ram is only 350 satin finished. Not a bad intake at all.

Yeah dude, I think the Stealth-Ram is the way to go...
I think we can get it under your hood... If not, Jensen can mill a little off the runners and maybe give you another 1/2" or so of clearence...
I think you should order it awhile, so we can lay it on top of the old 305 to check for hood clearence...
