Overheating ????
Today i was drivingmy car and noticed it hit 250 pulled over and coolant was comming out the tube i dont have a return tank. So i let it cool off turned it back on felt the top hose when itgot hot again and it wasent hard i was able to squeeze it so im thinking it may be the T stat even tho its a new t stat maybe it was a bad one?? So when i got home i let it sit for a while and felt the top hose by the t stat houseing it was still hot as hell then i felt the bottom hose and it was cool to the touch. Does this sound like a bad T stat. The fan is attached to the water pump and the engine is new it has abou 100 miles on it so far but it has been running cool up until today.
How ever last night i took the rad cap off to check the fluids maybe i didnt put the cap on tight enough??? Any ideas?

It is possible a loose cap would have bled off enough fluid to cause a jump in temperature.
And the lower radiator hose will always be "cool" to the touch. It is connected to the inlet side of the water pump (it's the hose that carries cold(er) coolant from the radiator to the water pump).

I let the car sit tonight with the enigne on for about 30 mins before some chick started sayin the fumes were going in her apt and chokeing her son lol.
Any ways it was at 220 when i shut it off then it shot up to about 235 when the enigne was off. Could it just be header heat causing the guage to be wrong or somethin else? Should i jsut run no Tstat?
