Please help.... ses code 15 and 42
well, i put my new heads on the car and the car was running perfect. when i first installed the hsr (few months prior), i started to get a code 15 which would come on once and a while and then stay off for a few weeks or so. but now the code 15 is staying on more often. anyway, i had a leak in my radiator so i replaced it, and when i was done, i took the car for a ride and everything seemed fine. i was letting it idle in the front of my house when i got back from taking it out, and i was checking the timing and fuel pressure to make sure everything was alright, when all of a sudden, it just died. the car was running great and sounded fine before it died so i really dont know what's going on. i checked the codes and i got a new one, 42. when i try to start the car, it wont start unless i give it gas. then it'll stay on if i let it idle with my foot on the gas for about 10 seconds. then it idles by itself for maybe 40-60 seconds or more and then dies again. i tried starting it without the MSD 6al box, and it does the same thing. i also noticed a few days back that the car started to develop a high idle, too. does anyone have any ideas? thanks all
btw, it's a 1990 iroc-z, 5.7, auto, and the only thing that's stock is the block. everything else is aftermarket.

code 42 is from you setting the timing. You should have unplugged the tan wire when you set it. When you do this it sets code 42. That can be cleared by disconnecting the battery for 5 minute s or so.
The 15 indicates low temperature indicated at engine coolant temp. sensor. You may have a bad sensor or the therm isn't closing and the engine isn't heating up to normal temps.
As far as it is dieing, Does it just turn off, or does it stumble and act like it's missing?

i thought the code 42 would have been from adjusting the timing... just wanted to make sure it isnt my ignition module or anything.
when it was at idle, it wasn't missing... i couldnt see the engine shaking like it was missing, it just had a slight shake because of the cam (224/230 durration). when it died... it stumbled for maybe one second and died. it was quick... didnt even see it comming. and it would only start up if i had my foot on the gas. could it have anything to do with the iac or something cuz i did notice my idle had been getting close to 1k at some times and then eventually back down to normal

i noticed that the coil (hypertech) was a little loose inside the metal frame it's in... so i replaced it with the stock coil and, what do you know... car runs like a champ
