Ignition kills engine when under computer control

Oh where oh where has my camaro gone, why did you leave me here all confused.
Heres the problem, When I set the engine timing (tan/black wire open), the engine runs fine. Turn the engine off, reconnect the (tan/black wire), fire the engine up and it just stumbles and dies. If after it start, I quickly turn the distrubitor counter clockwise, the engine will run. I have checked all the sensors, and they look fine. Checked the wiring from the distrubitor and ECM. I have replaced the ignition module and computer. HELP PLEASE.
