Fiberglass Z28 Cowl Hood in Florida

Hey guys,

I don't come on here that often anymore... but I just thought I would post about this. I go to the junkyard once a month looking for stuff to buy and then sell on eBay. When I went this time, they had THREE 3rd gen f-bodies with the cowl-induction setup. One of them was a 1982-1983 Pontiac TransAm. I pulled the cowl flapper, but the air cleaner is still there.

There is another car, a 1986 that apparently someone installed a functional cowl hood onto it.

But I'm really posting because there's an early Z28 Camaro that has a fiberglass hood. It's a functional cowl-hood. I decided to take the cowl-flaps, the air cleaner, and the CFI intake manifold... but from what I seem to remember, this fiberglass hood is rare and expensive?

In any case, it's at the U-PULL-IT in Davie, Florida. So if you ever happen to cruise around there, definitely pick it up. They usually charge $75 bucks for the hood.

This hood is complete with new gas shocks, doesn't have any cracks in it either.

Hope someone saves it..

Oh yeah, the car is apparently loaded, so you might want some other stuff from the car too...

Ok, it's gone...

I was pulling the lower intake manifold from it (CFI) when a couple people walked by. I metioned it to them, and they grabbed it. The yard only charged them $50 bucks for a factory fiberglass COWL hood..

Pretty sweet!!!

I'm glad it's not going to be crushed.
