biggest cam in stock heads?
ok i searched and didnt come up with a very solid answer
i have a 84 LG4 5.0 with stock heads, whats the biggest cam i could run without replacing the valve springs?
ive been looking on jegs and crane energizer cams have a bunch of grinds in the .450-.480 range which is what im guessing is the range of the biggest lift i could get
one im really looking at is .467"/.467" 278*/278*
would that be a good cam to run, as far as actually fitting in the motor and not having issues?

At .467" lift , it will fit. You can get hi perf springs that will drop on to replace the tired stock ones too. You can replace the springs without removing the heads from the motor too.
This cam would require a high rear gear ratio be used behind your stock 305. You'll see a significant loss of low end torque below 3000 rpm, but above 3000rpm, a gain.
Should rev to 6000rpm. I'd switch to 4.10's
