Fuel Pump ??

I have an 83 Trans Am, 305 LG4.. Just had the motor rebuilt, also new exhaust & ignition system..

Problem I'm having is it Boggs at WOT from a dead stop.. It's a new intake & new edelbrock #1406 (600 cfm) carb.. Everything has been tuned as much as possible..

Could this be a fuel pump problem? If so, what would be a replacement? I've seen the in tank and inline fuel pumps, which do I have now..

I haven't tryied re-jetting the carb yet, but it just seems like it's starving for fuel at WOT..

Sounds like the carb still needs tweaking. There is a tech article in 3rd gen about carb tuning, and it specifically mentions bog , especially with 4 barrels.

You have the block-mounted mechanical type of pump. It will not cause that problem.

Oops, I just re-read your post, you have a Carter carb.... the rules are different for that. You'll probably need to get the tuning kit from Edelbrock to get it really right.
