Fuel problem....
Fuel problem....
Ok, the car has been acting up for the last month or so now. Randomly stalling, but when I get back to it with some tools she fires right up and works for a bit, then stalls. Well tonight me and some carb cleaner finally discover that it is a fuel problem. Filter was changed, which pretty much to me leaves (not that I am all that swift) the pump, carb (maybe the float sticking or out of alignment), or vapor lock.
What is vapor lock. How big a deal to replace the fuel pump, stock mechanical. I rebuilt the carb about 3 years ago and it seems to have been fine since, shouldnt it go out sooner or last longer?
**MOD**
If this should be somewheres else, like Carbs bounce me over, I will not pass go I will not collect 200 dollars.
TIA

Replacing the fuel pump is not too hard.
My brother changed mine last October, took him a couple of hours since he's never done that before.
If your car doesn't have the smog pump and hoses, you can literally change it from above, it's just 4 bolts and 2 hose clamps and one screw-in fitting. I took mine off a couple of weeks from above, just reached down, undid the hoses and bolts and blocked it off. Now I have my TPI, which is almost done now.
