birdie dies from heat exhauastion? HELP!

Twice this week If i'm driving constantly (20-30 mins) my temp has risen to about 210-215 or so. Fairly normal,
BUT after my first stop, she won't start again! I had to wait at least 15-20 minutes for her to cool down a bit and
she started right up.
Sounded like it was choking a bit after it started, but at least it did.
Any idea what's happenin' in there? Thanks!

I think the problem is that your motor is lonely. Maybe if you introduce it to two more friends named Cylinder #7 and Cylinder #8.

Sorry for not being helpful but its late...

I think you have to find why your car is running too hot. Maybe check the thermostat first. Then have the radiator/block flushed out and add new coolant. Also check that the fan is cutting in and working.. Check leaks, and radiator cap. You need pressure in the system for the cooling system to work effeciently.

Are you sure it's not your starter.
If your starter is going, the high engine heat could stop it from working till it cools down.
I had that problem on my Riviera.

my problem that causes that is keeping the electric radiator fan running. If you pull over and pop the hood is that fan running. thermostat usually won't make 5 minutes to be that hot and it will have the guage pegged before 20 minutes.

By the not starting problem do you mean failure to crank over at all or cranks but no go. If no crank then starter is going. You might want to try some fuel injection cleaner and a new fuel filter too. If the car is running lean it will get hot too. Cleaner and filter are cheap and probably need done anyway.
