could a cracked head do this? Geez i hope so

the car hesitates and runs sluggish, not too hard to start cold or hot, but an absolute bitch to start warm (after sitting 30-40 minutes). cranks over, fires, dies. no codes. cranks over, fires, give it gas, kind of makes a small whooshing sound like no compression, dies. btw its a 305 tbi. could it be a cracked head? i hope so

i'd check the fuel preasure and volumn first. i had a 2.5 in a beater grand am that had too many cracks to count and it ran fine (more or less) and never leaked coolent. i had the head off to replace a couple of burnt valves and found all the cracks. if you suspect a crack do a compression test ,leak down test, and look for coolent in the oil and air bubbles in the coolent.
