Power steering fitting
I transplanted a 350 engine from an 89 GTA into another car (Datsun 280 ZX) and I want to modify the low pressure fitting on the power steering reservoir so it points in a different direction. I'm not sure how to do this. It appears the tube may be brazed to the reservoir but, having never brazed anything before, I'm not sure. I'm a little hesitant to start mucking around with it before I asked some advice here. I'd like to install a short piece of tubing with a beaded end to which I could clamp a hose. I did several searches using 'power steering fitting' and 'power steering hose' but could not find the answer to my question.
I'm guessing I should take it to a company that works on power steering lines but I'm open to ideas on how to do this myself. I'd like to learn something new but I'm not too proud to pay someone to do it for me if it is beyond me.
Thanks!
John

Yeah, it's welded to the pump body itself. I wouldn't mess with it unless you really know what you're doing. It's submerged in PS fluid at all times- guaranteed leaker if you mess it up. I'd do the fitting adapter you're considering before I'd mess with the fitting on the pump itself.
