Fouled PLUG QUESTION:
Ok I am about to take a road trip and i decided to change the plugs first.. my #8 plug has some serious ash on it... I was running a HR9BP Bosch Platinum Plug... All other plugs are fine and I suspect this has something to so with my Valve Seals since i get a blue puff at startup.. My Question is should i run a hotter plug and if so which one.... I cant use Delcos because of the headers

MJD,

If the plug already has ash on it (not soot or carbon) and no oily residue, the plug is hot enough. Going higher in range may only blister the insulator, but won't clean it any more. However, if there is still oily residue, a hotter plug might help. Going too hot can contribute to detonation.

Thanks Vader... so i guess the only solution is to finally get my valve seals replaced eh? Well i'll just keep an eye on that plug until then..
