Another AC question

I went out and bought an AC pressure gauge today.. Hooked it up to the low connection (which, I think, is the one coming off the umm.. the round cylinder thingie? heh)

With the AC on, every time it hit 45 psi the compressor would cycle on, and when it hit 25 it would cycle off. Thing is, it goes off and on every other second.

Now, when I turn the AC off, the pressure reads about 70psi.

I really have no idea what any of this means, but I know that my ac's not THAT cold and that the compressor shouldn't cycle on every other second.

Enkil,

This means that either the system charge is low, or the condenser or filter/drier is internally plugging. It is more likely that the system has lost some charge. Don't just drop in R134a to replace the lost R12. Use either R12 or a miscible R12 replacement, like MP-39 or ICOR Hot Shot. Typically when the compressor is cylcing on the low pressure switch, you've only lost about 25-30% or charge, or a about pound on most ThirdGen systems.

It is also possible that the pressure valve.
The thing thats sticks out toward the hood hinge passenger side with a 2 wire plug. It could be out of adjustment. If you pull the two wire plug there should be a screw "some do not have the adjustment screw, they are r-12 only" buy turning the screw clockwise it increases ac cycling while counter clockwise decreases it. This might be out of adjustment.
Worth a try.

Forgot to mention, it was converted to r134a. Thanks for the suggestions though.
