tbi on 350

according to my research, there were no 350's that came with TBI (camaros at least) am i wrong? Im asking this b/c i might be buy a camaro from a dude who swapped in a 350 in place of his 305. Im guess he did this to avoid a bunch of electrical and computer issues....but how much power do you guys think a 350 with tpi -stock- will make.

and, will i see any hp increase by putting an Edelbrock "performer manifold" on a 305 with tbi? or are these made only for carbed engines?

The most powerful 350 tpi put in a third gen was rated at somthing like 245 hp and about 345 lbft

You are correct, there were no 350 TBI motors in the F-Bodies. But, GM did make 350 TBI motors in the trucks and Caprices.

There is an Edelbrock manifold for 305-350 TBI motos, part number 3704. You will probably see a slight gain in power, but there are more restrictions on these motors than just the intake manifold.

Find out how he did the 350 swap. Did he use 350 injectors, knock sensor and ECS module? Does he have the proper chip work to accomodate the new motor? What 350 did he use? Most generic 350 TBI swaps end up making a few extra power over the already weak 305. However, you have a great platform and making power with that 350 will be pretty cost effective.

the thing is, this guy is a friend of a friend. Im so obessed with 3rd gens i got my coworker to get his friend to come to our workplace (wendys )and show me. So im gonna have to ask my friend who will then ask the dude with the maro. He had a reddish color (almost looked like the copper color, but it was a night) 89 with iroc hood, t-tops, custom exhaust (not a kit, it was all done by a local shop) with flat tips (boy i love flat tips on the 3rd gens and t-tops). He is thinking about selling it, so maybe i will get it. The car is from california (at least what he says, i find it hard to believe b/c i live in indiana) and has 2 hundred something thousand miles on it, new engine has about 3000 on it.

The only mod i would be able to put on it is a Z28 box spoiler, which isnt that good because i kinda want a stock maro to do all the stuff myself. He doesnt have headers though...

thx for the replies, im guessing 200hp out of a 350 tBi (not tpi as BCdawg was talking about)
